Which links earn us a commission

Today, the main affiliate relationship is with QuoteIQ. Links to QuoteIQ are marked in the page's HTML with rel="sponsored", the standard search engines use to label paid links. We expect to add more affiliate relationships over time — including Jobber, ServiceM8, and other tools we cover — and this page will be kept current as that happens. Not every link on the site is an affiliate link; many are plain links to vendor pages or to our own reviews.

What the commission does not change

• It does not change the ranking. The tool ranked first is the one we'd tell a friend to buy. There are cases where our top pick earns us less than the runner-up would — and it's still the top pick, because that's the honest call.
• It does not change the verdict. Criticisms, limitations, and "don't buy this if…" warnings stay in, commission or not.
• It does not change your price. Affiliate links never add a markup. You pay the vendor's normal rate.

How this fits our testing

We test the tools we can test hands-on (QuoteIQ, Jobber, and ServiceM8 today), and we clearly label everything else as researched on public information — not hands-on tested. Affiliate revenue doesn't get a tool a better review or a fake hands-on claim. How we work is spelled out on the about page.

FTC compliance

This disclosure exists to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255). Pages that contain affiliate links also carry a short disclosure near the top, so you're told about the relationship before you click. If anything here is unclear, email us.
